Virtual Internship Program

After a call with the Internship Manager, in which we will learn about your skills, experience and qualifications and the area of work you want to gain work experience, we will match you with a company and a project that best suits your needs.

During your initial meeting with the Internship Manager you will get guidance on which virtual internship best fits your needs, as we have internships that last between one and three months.

During your internship you will have weekly check-in meetings with your supervisor at your host company, so you can report the progress you are making with the project you have been assigned. This will also be a chance for you to ask question and raise issues, such as deadlines to finish the work you have been assigned.

You can also proactively set up meetings with your supervisor if you think you are going to miss a deadline. If you believe you are going to miss a deadline communicate this to your supervisor as soon as possible.

As part of your membership to FCF Academy you will be invited to informational webinars on things like the building your career, starting a business and things you can do improve your career prospects.

These webinars will be free to attend, and past webinars will be available to your Skillshub login.

If you complete the internship successfully and meet the agreed deadlines for the project set by the host company you will be given a written reference and/or a LinkedIn testimonial at the end of your internship.

We purposefully work with start-ups, scale ups and SMEs across the UK in a wide range of industries because we believe you will learn more, get access to senior people in the business and be assigned interesting projects that will make a real impact in the company.

You will then have a meeting with the host company to ensure you are a good match and a start date will be agreed.

The Program will give you real experience of working with a British company, in a sector that you want to enter. You will also develop your knowledge of UK business culture and the host company will provide you with a written reference and a testimonial on LinkedIn.

Furthermore, whilst we don’t promise a job at the end of your internship, if you impress your hosts company and they have a job opportunity that you qualify for they may invite you to apply for the job.

The virtual internship offers a unique opportunity for you to gain experience with a British company from anywhere in the world and with the help of your Internship Manager and the host company you will be supported to help you get the most from the internship.

One of our key requirements is that you have stable internet access and complete the weekly check ins with your host company, so that you can get the most out of the virtual internship.

To be able to complete the internship successfully we have set the following minimum requirements.

• Be educated to BA Hons level.
• Minimum B2 level of English as defined by the Home Office, and an advanced level of spoken and written English.
• Stable internet access and a laptop.
• Be able to complete the agreed hours with the host company.

If you are not able to complete your internship due to personal reasons or find a job you need to alert both the host company and your Internship Manager as soon as possible. You will be expected to handover the project you have been working on with handover notes to the host company.

You will not get a refund for the time remaining on your internship.
